MCA Laboratory, scheme organiser and partner of ERNDIM

To monitor the performance of laboratories in the field of inborn errors of metabolism, ERNDIM organises three types of External Quality Assessment (EQA) Schemes: Quantitative, Hybrid, and Qualitative.

Each scheme is developed by a Scientific Advisor in collaboration with the scheme organiser. Together, they define the design of the scheme, including the selection of analytes, target concentrations, and number of samples. Once the design is finalised, the organiser prepares the specimens and distributes them to participants.

The MCA laboratory provides this website for submission of results, and access to reports of the Quantitative and Hybrid schemes.

At the end of a scheme year, participants receive a Certificate of Participation.
